Community-Based Service Model Advocate services are distinct in that they are housed in agencies that provide services to women and children, support child and family welfare, and community programming that prioritizes safety and accountability. It’s this wraparound approach that mirrors Indigenous values, which don’t silo service provision but place victim support within a larger framework of community health. The exclusive number of tribes that fund these outlined coalitions that deal with violence against women and children illustrates constrained resources and potential for growth……victim autonomy as well as victims rights to appropriate support and advocates for it, in line with modern victim advocacy principles and traditional Aboriginal emphasis on individual agency and responsibility in the context of community support.
