Chief of the St. George’s Indian Band in St. George’s Newfoundland, Canada

  • Day care (childcare) owner and provider for 20 years
  • Cadet Officer (CIC) Since 2006 and have been the commanding officer in the St. George’s Cadet Corps for 9 years
  • Volunteer with Big brothers and Big Sisters when the branch was open in Stephenville NL
  • Volunteer with People of the Dawn Friendship Center. Fundraised for our building for years and helped with different occasions.
  • Volunteer in the Town Of St. George’s Town Council for the past 2 years.
  • Volunteer with the Community Gardens and trails. Upkeeping the trails and making sure there are some fresh vegetables for those who need them.
  • Volunteer at the local recreation facility in St. George’s NL. Providing different sports and recreational events for the people of surrounding areas.
  • I am a daughter, mother, auntie, cousin, niece, boss, co worker and loyal teacher to many who crossed my path.

My Spirit Name, Aguhwah, means Loving kindness and Giver, which describes me to the fullest for that is exactly how my soul operates as a caregiver to my tribe Qalipu (Caribou) Nation. Also, my membership is with the Indian Band under Chief Nukumi Paqtesm (Means  Grandmother Wolf).
